PADI Open Water Diver Course through eLearning

What does it cover?

The PADI Open Water Diver course is, by far, the world’s most popular scuba certification course.  Millions of people have started diving as certified PADI Open Water Divers.  Learning to scuba dive requires both knowledge development (facts, principles, concepts) and motor procedures (skills, techniques, methods).  The PADI Open Water Diver Course online provides the knowledge development portion you need.  You develop the remaining skills by actually diving with a PADI Instructor at Ocean First Divers.

How does it work?

After enrolling, PADI’s eLearning system presents you with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics, and reading.  Short quizzes let you gauge your progress, and review and correct anything you might happen to miss.  This lets you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace.

What does it cost?

The PADI Open Water Diver Course online is $120 (US) nonrefundable and is paid directly to PADI (click the banner at the top).  The fee covers your knowledge development training and gives you unlimited access to an electronic version of the PADI Open Water Diver Manual (course textbook).  Ocean First Divers charges an additional $178.95 + tax for the review and pool portion of your certification, logbook, record file, eRDPml, and PIC card form for your permanent card.

You will also need your own set of mask, snorkel, pair of fins for the pool sessions and your open water checkout dives.  To finish your certification, you will need to do 4 open water dives after completing the eLearning, review, and pool portions.  The price for these 4 dives varies depending on the location and must be completed within a year from finishing the class and pool portions.  Ocean First Divers INCLUDES the cost of all 4 certification dives on our Florida Keys and dive travel group trips.

How long do you have to complete the eLearning course?

The eLearning course will be available for one year from the time of course registration.
