We enjoyed beautiful blue skies and calm seas for the thirty-hour traverse across the Pacific Ocean. The diving started at Manuelita Channel in toasty 82-degree water where divers promptly spotted hammerhead, white-tips and king angelfish. On just the store’s second day in Cocos, dozens and dozens of hammerhead circled divers at Dirty Rock, along with huge schools of jack and trevally.

The night dives were the customary river of sharks, with literally hundreds of white-tip combing the sea floor off Manuelita Coral Gardens for tasty morsels sleeping among the coral. Diver highlights included eagle rays, zebra morays, countless turtles, giant hawkfish.

On March 21st, OFD owner Graham Casden and long-time customer Skipp Meador boarded the Deep See submarine and descended to 1000 feet! The experience was unforgettable and with a Gates high-definition video camera, they documented batfish, frogfish, bratula, salpa and a jellynose, all at depths exceeding 500 feet. The diving ended on March 24th at Alycone with sightings of a school of marble rays and thirty hammerhead. The experience aboard the Undersea Hunter was first class and diving around Cocos lived up to all of our expectations…world class!
