Our trip to Cozumel was great fun. The weather, food, water temperature, visibility and camaraderie were all excellent. In addition to the warm, clear waters and vibrant coral reefs teeming with life, we had a diver graduate from a PADI Scuba Diver to an Open Water Diver! As an instructor and high school teacher of many years, it is always exciting to see a student progress, gain more confidence and develop an expanded skillset.
The exhilarating drift diving allowed us to simply relax and be carried by the water across the many dive sites we visited. The two guides from Aqua Safari kept the group safe and comfortable and pointed out a plethora of the benthic and pelagic marine life that makes Cozumel such a fabulous diving destination. The group also delivered over $200 of badly needed medical supplies to the Red Cross of Cozumel. This Red Cross has a very limited budget and rely on donations to service the people in need. The entire group would like to give a special thanks to Ocean First Divers and Anita Sturtz for purchasing and organizing the supplies.
Highlights of the trip included an enormous lobster, numerous eels, octopus, peacock flounders, nurse sharks, spotted eagle rays, lion fish, a splendid toadfish, innumerable shrimp and crabs and, of course, tons of benthic and pelagic fishes.
