What does it cover?
The SSI Open Water Diver course is, by far, the world’s most popular scuba certification course. Millions of people have started diving as certified SSI Open Water Divers. Learning to scuba dive requires both knowledge development (facts, principles, concepts) and motor procedures (skills, techniques, methods). The SSI Open Water Diver Course online provides the knowledge development portion you need. You develop the remaining skills by actually diving with a SSI Instructor at Ocean First Divers.
How does it work?
After enrolling, SSI's online training system presents you with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics, and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress, and review and correct anything you might happen to miss. This lets you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace.
What does it cost?
The SSI Open Water Diver Course online is FREE to start! You can complete the online training with no additional obligation, then sign up for review sessions and your pool training sessions at Ocean First Divers.
You will also need your own set of mask, snorkel, pair of fins for the pool sessions and your open water checkout dives. To finish your certification, you will need to do 4 open water dives after completing the eLearning, review, and pool portions. The price for these 4 dives varies depending on the location and must be completed within a year from finishing the class and pool portions. Ocean First Divers INCLUDES the cost of all 4 certification dives on our Florida Keys and dive travel group trips.
Your own personal set of mask, fins, and snorkel are required for the pool sessions.
